Mrs. Jennifer Peterson-Bradshaw
My name is
Jennifer Peterson-Bradshaw, you would think you can learn a lot about
a person from their name, like relationships, genealogical
information, nationality. Well not me. My name tells a completely
different story that who I am or where I come from.
Bradshaw is my husband's family name.
This creates an entirely different story. People see my name and have
all kinds of questions. Are you related to so and so? I am absolutely
not unless by marriage. I know that this side of the family is well
documented and I have a copy of the family tree. If I need to know, I
can look it up. I am happy to share with anyone, but please don't ask
me in the grocery store. I can't answer off the top of my head. I
know they three things:
- They are English and have family all over the United States
- They have a path called the Bradshaw Trail
- They have roots back to the Hess Family.
The Peterson part of my name is of the
Staten Island, New York immigrated Petersson’s that came from
Sweden in 1925. My ties with the Peterson family go back to Oscar
Edward Petersson born Jan 4 1887 from Fliseryd, Kalmar, Sweden d Dec
31 1970 in Miami, Dade, Florida, USA m. Hannah Maria b. Dec 19 1883
in Tommsfall, Sweden and d. Feb 9 1940 in Staten Island, Richmond,
New York, United States. They had 5 sons together. I was adopted
into this part of the family.
With this family and the process of the
changes over the centuries I was born a Jacobs and my surname should
have been Newborg. As I learn more I will be sharing with the blog.
If you have questions please feel free to contact me.
